About the Workshop

Ultrasound in rheumatology is a rapidly evolving imaging tool that has registered an increasing and widespread use over the last decades. Currently, it is utilized for assessing different rheumatic pathologies and for evaluating various abnormalities both in degenerative and inflammatory diseases, allowing for an accurate assessment of both musculoskeletal and organ involvement. Due to its limited cost, wide equipment availability, and feasibility, it is used as a bedside procedure in the clinical rheumatology practice. Although there is an increasing number of experts in the field, there are still many rheumatologists who are willing to learn the use and applications of ultrasound in rheumatology, with a great demand for attending ultrasound courses.

The Ultrasound Workshop at CORA Congress 2023 is a highly interactive educational initiative, aiming at assisting rheumatologists to learn ultrasound and its applications in the assessment of musculoskeletal and organ involvement in rheumatology. The Workshop program will be articulated in a combination of lectures and practical supervised hands-on scanning of healthy models and patients with different rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

The Workshop will focus on learning normal sonoanatomy, the standardized examination techniques, the pathological ultrasound findings and image acquisition.
